As long as I’ve been on this journey, I’ve always had a goal before me. When I don’t…I slack off and do NOTHING! As tired as I am of #tritraining I’m already setting goals for AFTER the #triathlon. #cantStopWontStop

Took everything within me to get out of my bed at 5am…even more to get out the door. But the thought of trying to get this swim in AND a two hr bike ride in, this evening…was a great push. Had a decent swim…hit all my times…this pace and time is not quite accurate or not indicative of my true pace since I did a lot of pull sets today. This #roadtohalfironman is almost over…getting harder and harder…maybe not harder…think I’m just ready for a break!  #trilife #tritraining #swimming #fitness #fitmomma

longest training weekend is in the books. 62 mile bike ride yesterday…13 mile run today. Stick a fork in me…I’m DONE!  I was very pleased with my bike ride yesterday. My goal has been to avg 15 mph…I averaged 16.2 up until mile 44, when my quads cramped up on a hill…I waited it out a bit and then let up on my pace…to ensure I was able to finish the ride. Still ended up at 15.6 mph avg…super excited about that. Now my run this morning was a different story but hey…I covered the distance. :-). Told my friend this morning, I’d rather SUCK at these 13 miles than not doing them! #roadtohalfironman #tritraining #trilife #running #biking #runbikemom #Halfironman #triathlon #triathlete #fitmomma

Workouts didn’t go as planned today…planned to be done with my run and my swim BEFORE the girls got home from school. That didn’t workout. So…they hung out with mommy, today. They had a great time in the pool but only made it half way through the run (bike) before we had to call daddy. Happy I got my workouts in…(1600 yd swim/ 1 hr run) trying to complete 100% of my workouts between now and race day. #29dayToGo #roadtohalfironman #trilife #tritraining #trimom #triathlete #fitmomma

Late night Brick workout with my fellas. Road approx 1 hr. (Close enough lol) with the hubby and ran 30 minutes with my son. Oh the highs and lows of #triathlon. The good news is I finished!!!…the bad news is…I was THE last person out of the water…on/off the bike…on the run but was DETERMINED not to be the last one to finish. Saw a guy walk running and mad a goal to say in front of him. Lol. Saw another lady in the distance who I TRIED to catch but gave up on that Moments after crossing the finish line…I hear ” second place - Safari Charles, I think she just crossed the finish line.” Aka LAST place in my division but hey…I’ll take second place how ever I can get it. :-). Trying to “hydrate properly” but this is NOT yummy…to me. Mixed it with organic lemonade. I’ve been cramping way too frequently lately and I do NOT want to cramp up tomorrow on my training ride or during my #triathlon Sunday. #keepCalmAndHydrate

Great #brick workout last night…21 mile bike ride on my loaner bike…oh what a difference…followed by a 3 mile run. Legs felt good…was actually surprised by my pace, off the bike. Gives me hope for my #triathlon this Sunday. I ran without music…which I absolutely HATE but trying to get used to it…since NO music is allowed race day. #roadtohalfironman #36days #halfironman #runbikemom #runnermom #cycling #running

Closed the pool down last night. Got off to a late start but was determined to get my swim in…especially with this Olympic Distance Tri looming, this weekend. Whew!!  Good swim. Was tired when I started off. Didn’t think I would actually be able to hit the times of my main set because 1) I was tired and 2) I’ve never maintained that pace with such little recovery time but nailed all but one of them. 8x100’s…well, technically I stayed within my time (3:15) but wasn’t able to maintain 2:45 as instructed (2:27, 2:30, 2:29, 2:36, 2:36, 2:47,2:45, 2:39) - 2 x 200’s @ 6:45 (4:44, 5:00). Workout also included 900 (including 200 kicks) warm up & 100 cool down. Total workout: 2200m #roadtohalfironman #swimming #swimtime #trilife #trimom #tritraining #triathlon #triathlete

Got my bike ride in…fueling was better…not as many hills but boy oh boy…that’s just FAR. Biked so far the trail ENDED…so, I biked 54 outdoors and 6 on the trainer. #roadtohalfironman #halfironman #cycling #carbopro #trailriding

2100 meter swim…DONE…with my favorite girls!  1900m swim + 200m kicks (grr). Cool down was SUPPOSED to be 300m backstroke. Ha!
